"Eagle Partner" is a vital opportunity for US and RA soldiers. Colonel Martin O'Donnell
The European and African Command of the US Army referred to the joint Armenian-American military exercise planned in Armenia.
About 85 American and 175 Armenian soldiers will take part in the "Eagle Partner" peacekeeping exercises in Armenia on September 11-20.
Soldiers of the American 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division and the Kansas National Guard and the soldiers of the 12th Peacekeeping Brigade of Armenia will conduct the training in the nearby Zar and Armavir training areas of Yerevan," said the command's message.
"Partner Eagle is a vital opportunity for the soldiers of our two countries to build new relationships at the tactical level and increase interoperability in peacekeeping operations." It also builds on the Kansas National Guard's 20-year relationship with Armenia," said US Army Europe and Africa Colonel Martin O'Donnell.
Within the framework of the State Partnership Program of the Ministry of Defense, the state partnership of the Kansas National Guard with Armenia began in 2003.
The purpose of the exercise is to prepare the 12th Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade for NATO's Operational Capability Concept (OCC) assessment as part of NATO's Partnership for Peace program later this year.
