The Iranian periodical warns that Aliyev is crossing red lines

Ahmad Kazemi, a senior Iranian researcher on Eurasian issues, published an article for "Javan" newspaper, in which he noted that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, crossed the red lines. According to "Detq", the Iranian "ParsToday" news agency informs about this.

The expert emphasized that the fake program of the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" is a program with geopolitical, geo-economic, geo-cultural aspects against Iran and Shiites living in the Caucasus.

He believed that this program targeted Iran's vital interests by promoting British pan-Turanism, plotting to create ethnically separate regions along Iran's northern borders, creating refugee problems caused by the occupation of Baku, and expanding NATO in the region.

Kazemi added that in such a situation, Tehran can take three measures at the same time.

First, continuing its decisive approach, evidenced by official warnings to the parties, exercises and the opening of a consulate in Kapan, Iran must take preventive measures in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter if the parties take collusive steps.

Secondly, contrary to the assumptions of the parties, Iran has historical rights, as well as the necessary power to make fundamental changes in the developments taking place in the Caucasus, which requires consensus.

Third, in parallel with the consultations with Russia, China, India and Armenia, Iran should pursue and present its solutions to connect Nakhichevan to Azerbaijan (via Arax road), as well as to transfer energy carriers from Central Asia to Europe through Iranian territory.

The Iranian side tries to prevent changes in the borders of regional countries at all costs, while the Azerbaijani side regularly resorts to provocations, which worries Tehran. Iran is well aware that if the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem succeeds in establishing control over the Armenian-Iranian border, that circumstance will be used against its interests.
