Baku claims that it has nothing to do with the emigration of Armenians from Artsakh
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has stated that Azerbaijan has nothing to do with "the decision of local Armenians from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan to move to Armenia or any other country."
"We are ready to create conditions so that the Armenians of Karabakh have a better life than the conditions in which they lived as hostages of the military junta created by Armenia," the statement reads.
In that document, it is emphasized that Azerbaijan is determined to "reintegrate the residents of Karabakh of Armenian origin as equal citizens, in accordance with the Constitution and national legislation, in accordance with the international obligations assumed by Azerbaijan."
"We understand how painful it is for Armenia to see how the separatist regime established in the territories of Azerbaijan is collapsing, but now it would be better for them (Armenians) to focus on establishing peace and trust with Azerbaijan," the statement said.
That document states that the agreement should be based on the recognition of territorial integrity and sovereignty, "both in word and deed."
