The relations between Iran and Azerbaijan were sharply strained when on January 27 of this year an armed attack was carried out on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran.
Baku described the attack as a terrorist attack and evacuated all its embassy staff, while Tehran ruled out the possibility of terrorism, insisting that the attacker had personal motives. Currently, the two countries are trying to completely overcome the tension and normalize relations.
