Aykhan Hajizade condemned the statements of the Iranian ambassador to Armenia

Aykhan Hajizadeh, press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, condemned the statements of Mehdi Sobhani, the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.

"Such opinions harm the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, which are based on mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, they also contradict the words of the Iranian president during the meeting with the Azerbaijani president," Hajizade emphasized.

The latter noted that Baku considers the opinion of the Iranian ambassador to Armenia a provocation.

"We expect that Iran will prevent such steps that do not correspond to the spirit of our relations, as well as take appropriate measures regarding the opinion expressed by the ambassador," Hajizadeh added.
