Hearings were held in the parliament of the Basque Country regarding the situation in Artsakh
The Committee on European Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Basque Country held hearings regarding the situation in Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh - ed.), during which Spanish-Armenian lawyer Levon Grigoryan, a member of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGUM), informed the committee at the request of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh - ed. ) about the current situation.
According to "Armenpress", Grigoryan stated that the protection of human rights is a responsibility that transcends political, cultural and ethnic differences.
"Regardless of our background, it is important that we unite in this common cause. Ethnic cleansing is a direct violation of human dignity and the most basic right - the right to life. The rights of the people of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh - ed.) need international protection, and the status of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh - ed.) cannot be determined by the war started by Azerbaijan," said the lawyer.
Grigoryan advocated an independent investigation of the crimes against humanity committed by the Azerbaijani authorities, arguing that the application of sanctions against these authorities is crucial to prevent the possibility of a new Armenian Genocide.
