We stand by Armenia in overcoming problems. Asad

The President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, stated that Syria stands by Armenia in overcoming problems and challenges. According to "Detq", the Syrian state news agency SANA informs that Assad said this in a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan.

Asad stressed that Syria considers Armenians a part of its state, society and value system. "Armenia's problems are not foreign to us, and we stand by Armenia's side in overcoming problems and challenges," said the head of the Arab republic.

Hakob Arshakyan, in turn, presented the idea of the "Crossroads of Peace" put forward by Armenia, stressing the importance of the road map for peace in the region. At the same time, he expressed his belief that the Armenian-Syrian cooperation has a great potential for development and expansion.

Referring to the Syrian crisis, Hakob Arshakyan noted that from the very first day of the crisis, Armenia advocated for the settlement of the problem through a dialogue on the maintenance of Syria's sovereignty, peace and security.

Armenia and Syria have always had close relations, which have only strengthened over the years. During all its governments, Armenia has supported the preservation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which primarily derives from the interests of the Armenian community living in that country.
