Azerbaijan occupied 200 square kilometers of Armenia. Rubinyan gave a speech in Bishkek
Currently, Azerbaijan has occupied about 200 square kilometers of Armenia. According to "Sputnik Armenia", this was announced by RA NA Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan at the 56th plenary session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
"As a result of large-scale military operations against the territorial integrity of Armenia, as well as the creeping military occupation tactics carried out by Azerbaijan over the past three years, about 200 square kilometers of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia was occupied," said Rubinyan.
According to him, Armenia continues to work towards the establishment of a peace agreement and relations with Azerbaijan but insists that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, as well as the principles of Yerevan's jurisdiction in the event of unblocking communications in the region, be recognized in that agreement.
Armenia's position remains the same. establishment of peaceful relations based on three agreed principles. The first principle states that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity within 29.8 thousand and 86.6 thousand square kilometers, respectively.
The second principle, the demarcation and delimitation of borders should be implemented in 1991. According to the declaration of Alma-Ata, 1974-1990 based on Soviet maps Armenia and Azerbaijan have no territorial claims to each other and are committed not to make any claims in the future.
The third principle concerns the unblocking of regional communications within the sovereignty, jurisdiction and laws of the countries through which they pass.
