Abdollahian claims to have started an escalation of the war in the Middle East
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, announced that the scale of the war in the Middle East has begun to expand. According to "Detq", Abdollahian said this in an interview with the "Financial Times" periodical.
Abdollahian emphasized that Tehran does not want Israel's war to expand further, but the approach shown by the US and Israel in the region makes the expansion of the war quite possible. He said that in the first weeks and days of the war, American officials sent messages through certain diplomatic channels saying that Washington was not seeking to expand the scope of the war and asking Tehran to exercise restraint.
Iran's chief diplomat informed that during the last 40 days, messages were exchanged between Iran and the United States through the US interests section of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran. He emphasized that Tehran has conveyed that if Israeli war crimes against the population of Gaza and the West Bank are not stopped, a wider conflict may be inevitable.
Abdollahian emphasized that the US sent similar messages to the Lebanese "Hezbollah", asking them to show restraint. He said that despite these reports, the US offered its full support to Israel and supplied the regime with all kinds of military equipment and weapons, which led to the escalation of the war.
The latter added that Washington's unrestrained support for Tel Aviv proves that the US is not faithful to its statements. He also expressed his belief that the expansion of the scale of the war in the region has already begun.

Israel is able to continue its aggression against the Gaza Strip mainly thanks to the military support provided by the United States, which in turn creates risks of expanding the resistance. This naturally worries Iran, which supports the Palestinian side in this conflict and seeks to establish an immediate ceasefire.
