Armenia will receive 50 "Bastion" armored vehicles

The French Senate recommended to study the supply of CAESAR artillery systems to Armenia as soon as possible, taking into account the efficiency of this technique and the new production capacities of "Nexter" in 2024.

As reported by "News.am", according to the message of the French Senate, Armenia recently signed an order for three "GM200" radar stations from "Thales", and discussions are underway regarding the supply of MISTRAL 3 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The Senate also noted that 24 "Bastion" type armored vehicles manufactured by the French company "Arquus" have already been sent to Armenia, which should be joined by another 26 vehicles of the same type, which are being produced now.

"The French authorities have initiated the supply of "defensive" weapons to Armenia. This distinction between defensive and offensive weapons is not really practical, as the war in Ukraine showed. Let's not repeat the same mistakes and delay the supply of the equipment that would have been necessary from the beginning. That's why we should promptly respond to all the requests of the Armenian authorities, especially regarding their need for artillery," said the French Senate.

Agreements regarding the supply of weapons were reached in Paris in October 2023 during the meeting between the head of the French military department, Sébastien Lecorne, and the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan.
