Tehran welcomes the Armenian-Azerbaijani joint statement. Nasser Canaan

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nasser Kanani, referred to the joint statement recently adopted by Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that official Tehran welcomes it. According to "Detq", this is reported by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.

Referring to Iran's relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan and Tehran's diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions in the Caucasus, Kanani said. "Iran welcomes the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia on mutual actions and cooperation, including the release of prisoners from both sides. We consider it a positive event."

The Iranian official also stressed that the achievement of peace requires the strengthening of peaceful rhetoric and the atmosphere of trust between the regional parties. He expressed hope that the measures will lead to peace and stability between the two sides.
