The EU should take more effective steps to stabilize the situation in Gaza. Abdullahi
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, stated that the European Union should take more effective steps to stop Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip.
According to "Detq", Iran's pro-government "Mehr" news agency reports that Abdollahian said this in a letter addressed to the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
Iran's Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the European side's latest position regarding the need for a cease-fire in Gaza and attempts to make it lasting. According to him, it is necessary to stop the killing of civilians in Gaza, respect the international law and focus on providing the necessary assistance to the homeless residents.
Abdollahian also welcomed Borel's stance in declaring Israeli settler actions a gross violation of international humanitarian law and condemning settler violence in the West Bank.
The letter addressed to the European Union's foreign policy chief also calls for more effective steps to stop the occupation regime's attacks on the Gaza Strip forever, to completely lift the blockade and end the occupation of the Gaza Strip.

Thanks to the support provided to Israel by the US and Western countries, Israel has resumed its ground operations against the Gaza Strip after more than a week of ceasefire. In this context, Tehran is trying to contribute to the establishment of a cease-fire between the parties again, parallely continuing the support given to the Hamas movement.
