India will soon start supplying "Akash" missile systems to Armenia: the transaction cost 600 million dollars

India will start supplying "Akash" anti-aircraft missile systems to Armenia in the coming months. This was reported by the ANI agency, referring to its source in the country's Ministry of Defense and noting that Armenia purchased these ADFs from India for 600 million dollars.

"Many countries, including Brazil, Egypt and the Philippines, are showing interest in Akash missile defense systems," the agency quoted the source as saying.

"Akash" is a mobile anti-aircraft complex manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The complex can simultaneously hit multiple targets, including missiles, as well as helicopters, fighters and drones at a range of 4-25 km. The Indian Armed Forces have already acquired these complexes for two regiments of missile troops and placed an order for two more.

Earlier, Armenia acquired from India "Pinaka" rocket launchers, Konkurs anti-tank missile complexes (produced in India under a Russian patent), as well as 80-mm howitzers and other types of weapons. In addition, the Indian company Zen Technologies, which produces anti-aircraft systems for shooting down drones, intends to open a branch in Armenia.
