Whatever we suggest, Azerbaijan does not agree, because it wants to attack on Armenia. .

We are always pro-peace, and if our offers are rejected, we will make them again. In an interview with NEWS.am, Gagik Melkonyan, a deputy from the CP faction in the National Assembly, stated this.

"Azerbaijan rejects them because they have no intention of achieving peace. If they desired peace, it would have occurred a long time ago. That is why they reject all of our offerings. They will not accept our last recommendation, which is to control each other's weaponry, because they will never let you manage their weapons. They can use the simple rationale that we have four neighbouring states, and I can launch a war with them tomorrow. Who are you to come and take control of my weapons? When we are earnest in our objectives, yet they have ulterior intentions.

Second, we propose a parallel withdrawal of soldiers because we desire peace, but they don't. We recommend withdrawing from the front lines and allowing the delimitation and demarcation work to be completed. They do not agree; they are in our territory and do not wish to go. We already knew they did not want to go to peace. "They will not agree to any conditions we set because they want to attack our country," claimed the CP deputy.

According to him, Armenia should restore the military balance and seek for new partners and allies in order to maintain its security.
