EU military aid to Armenia will disrupt peace in the South Caucasus. Byramov

"Military aid provided by the European Union to Armenia will disrupt the peace in the South Caucasus region under any pretext," Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated at the meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, Marketa Pekarova Adamova.

The importance of mutual visits between the two countries, permanent political dialogue, as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized at the meeting. The parties noted the existence of prospects for the development of bilateral economic relations, particularly in energy, tourism, agriculture, education, mutual investments and other fields.

The head of Azerbaijani diplomacy also noted that for the first time in 30 years, favorable conditions have been formed in the region for achieving peace between Baku and Yerevan. Bayramov added that the European Union providing military aid to Armenia under any pretext, the desire to show patronage will only disrupt the process of establishing stable peace in the South Caucasus region.

Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the EU, and the "double standards" policy and unfair approach towards Baku do not contribute to sustainable peace in the region.

"The adoption of an anti-Azerbaijani decision in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe does not serve the dialogue," he said.
