Iran has condemned the US military attacks on Iraq and Syria

The permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the UN, Said Iravani, stated at the Security Council session that Iran strongly condemns the US military attacks on Iraq and Syria. According to "Detq", this is reported by the Iranian "ParsToday" news agency.

Iravani noted that the US military action is illegal and unjustified, and also clearly violates the norms and fundamental principles of international law. The diplomat described the US attacks as a clear violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Iraq and Syria.

Said Irawani noted that the United States and NATO should respect the Iraqi government's decision to end the military presence and withdraw forces from that country. "The claims that Iran's bases in Iraq and Syria were attacked are groundless and are made to divert attention from the aggressive actions of the United States," he said.

Iran's permanent representative to the UN added that Iran has never sought to transfer its differences with the United States to the territory of Iraq and is committed to Iraq's independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He claimed that this is the main position of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Recently, the situation in the region has been sharply tense, as a result of which the USA launched strikes on the territory of Syria and Iraq. This naturally worries Iran, which condemns these attacks by the American side.
