In his congratulatory letter to Aliyev, Erdogan referred to the signing of the peace treaty with Armenia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of his victory in the extraordinary presidential elections held on February 7.

Erdogan noted that the development of Azerbaijan, the liberation of "Azerbaijani lands from occupation" and the growing prestige of that country in the international arena give Turkey a reason to be proud.

According to Erdogan, Aliyev's re-election is very important from the point of view of establishing peace and stability.

"In this regard, I hope that as a victorious leader, the negotiations with Armenia, in which you have invested so much work, will end with the signing of a peace treaty. I want your victory in the elections to be useful both for the fraternal Azerbaijani people and for our region," Erdogan said.

It should be noted that Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan, published the voting results based on the data obtained from 93.35% of the polling stations.

76.73 percent of voters participated in the elections - 4 million 971 thousand 32 people. The number of valid votes was 4 million 651 thousand 473.

1. Ilham Aliyev - 4 million 281 thousand 625 votes (92.05%), "New Azerbaijan" party

2. Aliyev Fuad Aghas Oghlu - 24 thousand 799 votes (0.53%), self-nominated candidate

3. Hasanguliyev Gudrat Muzafar oglu - 81 thousand 799 votes (1.76%), "United National Front" party

4. Musaev Elshad Nabi Oglu - 31 thousand 33 votes (0.67%), "Greater Azerbaijan" party

5. Mustafa Fazil Gazanfar oglu - 92 thousand 980 votes (2%), "Great Creation" party

6. Nurullaev Razi Gulamel Oglu - 32 thousand 386 votes (0.8%), "National Front" party

7. Oruj Zahid Maharram oglu - 101 thousand 851 votes (2.19%), self-nominated candidate
