According to the CC deputy, "we live under a Constitution that is illegitimate"
We see the problems in the Constitution we have, and those problems are many. Today, on February 8, CC faction deputy Vahagn Aleksanyan mentioned this in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.
"The first of the problems is the legitimacy of the Constitution, because almost everyone in the RA political field, except for the authorities at the time, has always recorded that the constitutional referendums were held with many electoral violations, and under no circumstances can the Constitution formed as a result of these changes be considered legitimate. It is already a problem that we live under a Constitution that is illegitimate," Aleksanyan said.
According to him, there is a need for change in the Constitution, a change in mentality, there is a need to fix RA as an absolute value.
To the question: does changing the Constitution have anything to do with the Declaration of Independence, because the Constitution refers to the Declaration of Independence, he answered: "Yes, there are points we are talking about, including the reference to the Declaration of Independence. We talk about this openly with the public, however much manipulation, lies and fraud there are, especially by the political forces ruling from a particular country. It is clear that Armenia should have a Constitution that serves Armenia, not written at the behest of an empire, under the conditions of the collapse of that empire, so that mines are laid under Armenia so that if one day the empire decides that it needs to be reunited, that mines to work.
My impression is that there are points that are embedded.
It is written in the constitution that Armenia must fulfill the wishes of the Armenian people. Now, let someone explain to me how Armenia should satisfy the desires of both Russian Armenians and American Armenians at the same time.
From the point of view of the Armenian state, should there be a sign of equality between the lives of Armenian citizens and the lives of people who are our compatriots but live outside of Armenia? I think it's not normal to put that equal sign."
