Michel discussed the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement with Aliyev

The President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, congratulated Ulham Aliyev on his election as the President of Azerbaijan for the fifth time, wishing him "the best". In a post published in X, Michel informs that he talked with Aliyev and also discussed the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement.

"We welcome Azerbaijan's commitment to resume the tripartite meeting of the Brussels process," Michel wrote.

After the war against Nagorno-Karabakh and the depopulation of Artsakh on September 19 of last year, Baku boycotted the Western platforms of Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, including through the mediation of EU Council President Michel.
