
Turkey and Azerbaijan have signed several agreements
Ilham Aliyev arrived in Turkey on February 19 and had a meeting with Erdogan. This was Aliyev's first visit after being re-elected as president. In addition to bilateral relations, the agenda of the meeting also includes regional and global developments.
After the meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Ankara, several agreements were signed between the two countries.
1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and the Higher Education Council of Turkey regarding the establishment of a Turkish-Azerbaijani university. The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, and the President of the Higher Education Council of Turkey, Erol Ozvar.
2. Agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkey on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine. The document was signed by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakl.
3. Agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkey on elimination of double taxation of income taxes and prevention of tax evasion. It was signed by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabarov and the Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey Mehmet Shimsek.
