Armenia practically froze participation in the CSTO. Pashinyan
Armenia practically froze its participation in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with "France 24".
"I estimate that the CSTO did not fulfill its security obligations towards Armenia, particularly in 2021 and 2022, and this could not pass without consequences. And the consequence is that we practically, in fact, have "frozen" our participation in the CSTO," Pashinyan noted.
As for the issue of the Russian military base in Armenia, according to the Prime Minister, the Russian military base is located in Armenia outside of CSTO. "It is a completely different legal contract dimension, and we have not had the opportunity to address that dimension."
