A decision to leave the CSTO has not been made, but perhaps it is not excluded. Alain Simonyan
The decision to leave the CSTO has not been made, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan announced this in a conversation with journalists. "There is no such decision, no such decision has been made, but it is not excluded," he said.
Simonyan mentioned that the Armenian people always present this demand to leave the CSTO.
To the question whether this could create additional problems with Russia, the Speaker of the National Assembly answered. "Honestly, I don't know what problems he should create, attack us, impose sanctions, what should he do? We needed protection, but over a dozen episodes it became obvious that our ally wasn't helping us. We are talking about Nagorno Karabakh or the sovereign territory of Armenia."
To remind, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced yesterday in the National Assembly that "we have de facto frozen the relations with the CSTO, and if this process continues, we should de jure freeze it as well."
