The F-16s sold to Turkey are actually used against Armenia. US Senator

Rand Paul, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, condemned the use of F-16s by Turkey and Azerbaijan in attacks against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, the US Armenian Committee reports.

The senator called for the resolution on congressional disapproval of the sale of F-16s and other defense products to the Turkish government.

Among the many reasons for blocking the sale of "F-16" to Turkey, Paul reminded the claim of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia that on September 29, 2020, the Turkish "F-16" shot down an Armenian "SU-25" plane in the airspace of Armenia.

“Turkey has stood closely alongside its ally Azerbaijan in its efforts to subjugate the region, providing combat drones, military equipment, training and, if the Armenian government is to be believed, direct combat support. So our planes, the F-16s, that we give to the Turks, are actually being used in another war with Armenia," he said, adding that in 2020 in the war and in 2023 As a result of the subsequent military operations of Azerbaijan, thousands of people died, a humanitarian disaster was created, forcing more than 100 thousand people to be displaced.

Senator Paul's resolution received bipartisan support from senators. The resolution, however, did not receive enough votes to pass.
