The first session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Interstate Supreme Council took place

As we reported earlier, the President of Kazakhstan went on a two-day visit to Azerbaijan.

On March 11, the first session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Interstate Supreme Council took place, in which the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev took part.

"As for Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan relations, we are holding the session of the Interstate Supreme Council for the first time. This is also a historical event. We have discussed in detail almost all issues related to our economic-trade and investment cooperation, our mutual activities in the international arena and have come to common conclusions. This shows that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are really strategic partners, allied states. The prospects are promising, and, of course, the governments will deal with the implementation of the agreements reached today in the form of signed documents and agreements," said the President of Kazakhstan.

Aliyev expressed hope that this process (peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia - ed.) will end with the signing of a peace treaty.

The presidents held a joint press conference.

"I plan to visit Azerbaijan again to participate in the informal summit of the Turkish heads of state," said the President of Kazakhstan during a joint press conference with Ilham Aliyev.

"I think that such contacts are very useful for strengthening the strategic partnership and even the alliance between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. When we talk about strategic partnership, we don't take it as a nice phrase or a diplomatic politeness. Our cooperation includes the strategic nature of our mutual activities," Tokayev noted.
