Pashinyan is blackmailing the people: if we don't give, there will be a war. NA deputy about 4 villages
They are among the most strategically important areas, Artur Khachatryan, deputy of the "Hayastan" faction, announced in a briefing with journalists in the National Assembly, talking about the 4 villages demanded by Azerbaijan.
"If we look at where the Azerbaijani attacks into the territory of Armenia came from, they came from the newly formed border. Now, if Azerbaijan captures that part without any effort, the entire northeast of Armenia will be vulnerable, and Azerbaijan's negotiating power will be much greater. They can demand anything, if the RA authorities try to oppose it, there may be another clash. At first they will want these 4, then they will want other villages, then they will say that the border is not demarcated, who said that this particular hill belongs to Armenia. They will give the same reasoning that they gave when occupying around 150 square meters of territory in the Jermuk area," the deputy noted.
Artur Khachatryan also emphasized that if those 4 villages are surrendered, the road to Georgia will be targeted by Azerbaijan. "They are heights that control the roads and from where it is easy to divide Armenia in the middle. Pashinyan talks to the people in the language of simple blackmail: if we don't give this, there will be a new war, people, do you want that?"
