"The relations between China and Azerbaijan have always been good since Azerbaijan gained its independence, and these relations will continue to develop in an upward direction. Azerbaijan is firmly committed to the development of cooperation with China in all spheres," Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the president of Azerbaijan, head of the foreign policy department of the president's office, said in an interview with the Chinese TV channel CGTN.

He noted that political relations have always been at the best level, especially considering that the Azerbaijani side supports the "one China" policy.

As for economic relations, according to Hajiyev, cooperation with China and active participation of Chinese companies have been part of Azerbaijan's success story. "Azerbaijan has defined "green development" and digital transformation as one of its national priorities. This year, Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). "Middle Corridor" has an additional meaning. The views of China and Azerbaijan coincide in cooperation in many other areas, including cultural, humanitarian and international institutions. Based on traditional relations, cooperation and friendship, we expect the continuation of this cooperation."

Speaking about the results of the visit to China, the Azerbaijani official emphasized that it gives greater confidence to the continuity and expansion of bilateral relations. "I am grateful to our Chinese partners that Azerbaijan's intention to develop cooperation receives the same response from China."
