The EU is considering supporting the armed forces of Armenia from the point of view of non-lethal weapons. Head of the EU delegation in Armenia
"Many people in Armenia are focused on security issues. I am glad that we are making progress in security cooperation. The European Union remains fully committed to the issue of stability and regulation of the situation in the region," said Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, head of the European Union delegation in Armenia, during the parliamentary hearing on "New perspectives and challenges of Armenia's European integration", Aravot reports.
The ambassador spoke about cooperation programs. "First of all, the political and security dialogue with Armenia, I want to thank the Armenian authorities for their commitment to that dialogue. The second is the political observation mission of the EU in Armenia, which monitors the situation on the Armenian side of the border and contributes to the combat situation for the Armenian people. Also, the European Union is considering supporting the armed forces of Armenia from the point of view of non-lethal weapons, but we are talking about essential support so that we can strengthen the capabilities. This concerns the European peace mechanism," said the ambassador.
