No one said that Ukraine will become a member of NATO in 10 years. Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that no one promised that Ukraine would become a full member of the North Atlantic Alliance within the next 10 years. According to "Detq", Stoltenberg said this on the American CBS television station, answering the question about the terms of Ukraine's accession to NATO.
"No one said in 10 years, but it is obvious that the issue of Ukraine's admission to NATO is very serious," he said.
According to Jens Stoltenberg, the most important thing that needs to be done now is to intensify the support provided to Ukraine so that it can win the war. "This is a prerequisite for any future membership of Ukraine."
The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization noted that they need a long-term and just peace, and "the only way to achieve it is to convince the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, that he will not win on the battlefield." In his opinion, the Russian leader should agree to such a solution, in which case Ukraine will win as a sovereign, independent European country.
Let's remind that the other day Stoltenberg expressed hope that Ukraine will become a member of NATO by 2034.
