The world is facing drastic changes. in this context, the South Caucasus begins to gain more importance than it had before, in connection with the Beijing-London project. Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan mentioned this in a conversation with NEWS.am.

"I think this is the reason for the new meeting between Rubinyan and Kilic, which is probably the decision of the Turkish side," he said.

When asked what to expect from that meeting, Safrastyan answered. "I do not expect a drastic change in Armenian-Turkish relations, because Turkey has repeatedly stated that there will be no serious changes in Armenian-Turkish relations until a peace treaty is signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Turkey will not abandon this decision.

There is no need to wait for the opening of the border at this stage, Turkey will not go for it, because it has already announced the relevant decision. The peace agreement is important for Turkey, because it should put on paper, legitimize the results that emerged as a result of the 44-day war. After legitimizing it, the new Turkey will move forward with the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" problem in front of its eyes.
