Russian border guards left Zvartnots airport

Russian border guards left Yerevan's "Zvartnots" airport today, where an official farewell event took place, "Azatutyun" reports.

The commander of the RA border guard troops, Edgar Hunanyan, thanked the Russian side for 32 years of joint service.

In March, at his last press conference, Prime Minister Pashinyan said that the Armenian side turned to the Russian side and informed that Armenia has sufficient capabilities to carry out border control independently.

Russian border guards, however, will continue their service on the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Iranian border.
