Russian peacekeepers stationed in the occupied territory of the Republic of Artsakh have left the Dadivank monastery complex in the Karvachar region. According to "Detq", this is reported by the Azerbaijani media.

It is reported that the monastic complex has been under the control of the Azerbaijani police since April 15.

"Peacekeepers closed their position in Khudaveng "Shahumyan, Dadivank" monastery of Kelbajar district, and since April 15, the monastery is under the control of the Azerbaijani police," the publication says.

Let's remind that the Karvachar region was handed over to the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces on November 25, 2020, according to the tripartite statement of November 9. During the entire 44-day war, the Azerbaijani army could not capture Karvachar.

After the surrender of the region, Russian peacekeepers were also stationed in the Dadivank area, where they were supposed to ensure the safety of Armenian pilgrims, but from the spring of 2021, Azerbaijan no longer allowed believers to visit the monastery.
