Official Paris recalled the French ambassador to Azerbaijan

France has announced that it has recalled the French ambassador to Azerbaijan for the purpose of consultations. According to the statement of the French Foreign Ministry, the reason for the decision is "Azerbaijan's unilateral actions, which harmed the relations between the two countries."

The French side does not disclose details.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that today Ambassador Anne Boyon was received by President Emmanuel Macron.

"Emmanuel Macron expressed his regret regarding Azerbaijan's actions and expressed his desire to hear the explanation from the Azerbaijani side," the message said.

The French Foreign Ministry added that France reaffirms its support for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, while respecting international law and the territorial integrity of both countries.
