Armenia and France have signed an agreement for the acquisition of CAESAR

France continues to strengthen defense relations with Armenia, French Minister of Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu wrote on his X page after meeting with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in France.

He noted that he had a warm and productive dialogue with Papikyan, and also that the CAESAR acquisition contract was signed. Lecornu called this an important event.

Caesar is a self-propelled howitzer of 155 mm caliber, the range of which exceeds 50 kilometers when using the most advanced projectiles.

It is actively used in the ongoing war in Ukraine. In December 2023, the French Senate urged Armenia to speed up the study of howitzers as much as possible.
