Ahead of the extraordinary presidential elections to be held in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the 4th great debate of the presidential candidates was held. According to "Detq", the Iranian pro-government "Mehr" news agency informs about this.

It is reported that the debate was held live, in which all 6 presidential candidates participated. Within the framework of the debate, the latter presented their plans and views on the country's foreign policy, and also answered the questions of their competitors.

The conservative Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, one of the favorites in the election campaign, referred to the unfair sanctions imposed on Tehran and emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries in the context of their elimination.

"If our oil sales are exempted from sanctions, we can restore the additional protocol. If they exempt our ports, insurance and the Central Bank from sanctions, then we can fulfill our obligations," Ghalibaf said, emphasizing the need to compensate for the disparity in people's incomes and inflation.

The other favorite of the conservatives, Sayid Jalili, referred to the significant opportunities available in the field of foreign policy and noted that the realities of the entire world should be taken into account. "From Latin America to Africa, our neighbors, the Axis of Resistance countries can create opportunities for us, we should not ignore them," the candidate emphasized.

Masoud Pezeshkian, the candidate of the reformists, who makes crowd-pleasing and obviously populist statements during the campaign, stressed that if he is elected to the post of president, he will remain loyal to the foreign policy course set by Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

At the same time, the latter welcomed the role of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in monitoring the Iran nuclear deal. "We have to solve the issues with the help of specialists. If we do not address the existing problems with this approach, then we cannot easily solve the problems related to sanctions," he added.

To remind, extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Iran on June 28.
