On June 26, on the eve of Armed Forces Day, Zakir Hasanov gave an interview to the Azerbaijani state news agency AZERTAC and AzTV.

The interview started with questions about the 44-day war and the terrorism committed in September 2023. "From this point of view, our country's defense capability, combat capability and ability to resist threats are very important. It seems to me that it is no coincidence that now in the most advanced military training schools of different countries of America and Europe, the bravery of the Azerbaijani army is being talked about, its tradition and experience are being studied. ...We share our experience with allied countries, and work in this direction is still ongoing. Along with this, I want to specifically mention that when the president (Aliev - ed.) started the reforms in the Azerbaijani army, he set before himself specific problems: to build a modern, professional army, to equip it with the most modern weapons and equipment.

Speaking about Akna's direction, he said: "According to our calculations, a large group of Armenian armed forces was surrounded, around 15-18 thousand personnel. To complete this operation, we had gathered our cannons and rocket systems around the besieged military units and were already starting the measures to neutralize them. This was one of the reasons why Armenia quickly signed the act of capitulation.

About military cooperation

Hasanov first of all mentioned the name of Turkey in military cooperation, citing the slogan "one nation, two states and one fist". According to him, one of their priorities at the moment is to arm themselves with modern weapons, equipment and ammunition, for which they will use Turkey's opportunities and carry out joint production.

Hasanov did not avoid threatening statements. "At the same time, I want to note that Aliyev stated in his speeches that if there is a threat to Baku (ed.), we will take our measures. He has repeatedly said that not only Armenia, but also any country cannot threaten Baku (ed.), no country can speak threatening language to Baku (ed.).

These statements of the representative of the enemy state are proof that one of their priorities is to have their own production in the military sector, to ally with Turkey, to create an armed army. This proves that the notions of peace have nothing to do with real peace, and the peace treaty is a convenient occasion to arm and resort to military operations.
