Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, arrived in Tehran yesterday and met with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. According to "Detq", the information was reported by the Iranian pro-government "Mehr" news agency.

It is reported that during the meeting the parties discussed the developments in Gaza.

Haniyeh emphasized that after the start of the Zionist regime's genocide and military aggression against the Palestinians, in the previous 6 months, Iran used its diplomatic might to stop the war and send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

Haniyeh's visit to Tehran took place a day after the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

No other details about the visit are given.

Since the start of the conflict in Gaza, Iran has supported the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, which is fighting for an independent Palestinian state. In this context, Haniyeh's visit to Tehran is of great importance, which at the same time is an indicator of Tehran's military and political support.
